My particular specialisation after the design stage is to source and search for the plants required, and then plant them. I take special interest in unusual plants which have been overlooked in recent years or which are difficult to propogate and therefore not found in garden centres or wholesale nurseries.

We have a vast network of contacts in the nursery trade, and once the backbone of the garden is planted, it is very satisfying to add one or two real “treasures” either grown by me from seed or cutting or found in a specialist nursery.

I try to take time out occasionally to visit trade fairs and special wholesale nursery open days and love to visit private gardens to keep abreast of new ideas from all over the world and learn from the great gardeners of this country.

We cannot undertake regular garden maintenance but are more than happy to train you or your own gardener as we progress through the project.

If possible I like to pay a courtesy call to each garden six months after planting to confirm that everything is growing well and offer advice on future plantings or soil conditioning.
